We have always wanted to record a project containing the great songs of the church. This week we will be choosing songs for a new Hymns project and would love to get your opinion. It’s going to be difficult to narrow it down to just 10 songs… so let’s hear from you! What is your favorite Hymn?

My favorite is “It is Well With My Soul.”
The one I’d most like to hear you sing . . . not sure. “It Will Be Worth it All,” maybe.
“It is well with my soul” & “Have a little talk with Jesus” How could it NOT be well with our souls if we continue to talk with Jesus?!
“In The Garden” ya know the one:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
The Old Rugged Cross is my all time favorite hymn
My favorite since childhood has been “Heaven’s Jubilee”
I have two favorites… Amazing grace and I’m a winner either way!
My favorite hymn is ” Because he lives. I had a liver transplant 11 years ago (1998) and from the time I was in intensive care, it was on my mind all the time, even some of the nurses in the intensive care sang it with me.
It will always be my favorite song.
I would love for you to inculde it in your songs.
Thank you
There are so many great, poetic, meaningful, worshipful hymns. I would say the first one that comes to mind is “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross”.
Home Of The Soul, Blessed Jesus Hold My Hand, Jesus Lover Of My Soul
Great choices,Randall…..a fellow dj from Bloomington, Indiana
“I Love To Tell The Story” Everyone take a verse, then join in together for the big finish!
My Favorite Hymns Are: 1. How Great Thou Art.
2. There’s within my Heart a Melody: The Man was preaching a revival and lost his home in a fire. something like that luther Bridges.
3.Amazing Grace. 4. It is Well with my Soul.
5.In the Garden. 6.Sweet Holy Spirit
7. Precious Memories, 8. Just As I Am
9. What A friend We Have in Jesus.
10. Sweet Hour of Prayer.
When my dad died by suicide because of somethings in his younger life as a child at home they sang Rock of Ages and I cannot listen to it without crying. He was my buddy, best friend, my daddy even though I was 29 years old at the time. He was saved by the grace of God 2 years earlier and noone can tell me that he was not saved. That is the only thing that helps me when I think of losing him. I know that I will see him some day. I would love for Rock of Ages to be on there in memory of my daddy that never got to see the grandson that I was carrying at the time.
My favorite (all time) How Great Thou Are.
My favorite hymn is He Touched Me. I had an experience at the alter after a crusade meeting where I actually felt the touch of God’s hand on my shoulder. I will never forget that night 111
Without a doubt: “It is Well With My Soul” and “Precious Lord”. I want these played at my (I hope not very soon) funeral. Thanks for asking.
we shall see the king what a powerful song
This is a hard thing to decide upon. I believe ya when ya say that it will be hard to narrow it down to just 10 songs. May I suggest though, that ya’ll put more on the next project instead of just 10? Mabey something around 12-15 songs ought to do it.
But as for some of my favorite hymns(i’ll name 10)….
It Is Well With My Soul, In The Garden,
I’m Free(by Bill Gaither),Standing On The Solid Rock, The Old Rugged Cross, He Touched Me, The Lighthouse, I Rest My Case At The Cross, I Know A Man Who Can, and
Who Am I(by Rusty Goodman)
Blessed Assurance
Some of the best Hymms ever written are listed above but no project would be complete without
“There’s Is Something About That Name” (Jesus,Jesus)
May God Bless You
Cason
Looks like you just need to check out an old George Beverly Shea album and get a list. Most of what has been posted would be found there. I love his songs. One not mentioned so far is “It Took a Miracle.”
There are so many great old hymns; I understand how it is so hard to choose what you want to do! I love “How Great Thou Art”, but “It Is Well With My Soul” is very meaningful to me too. Also “Amazing Grace” because grace is so amazing – beyond comprehension. Blessing to you!
Not necessarily my favorite, but The Dills would do a wonderful rendition of “Be Thou My Vision.” Right, it’s going to be hard to narrow down to 10 (or 11, or 12…).
It is hard to choose two.Probably my favorites are “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”.Having been to our church you know we still do hymns!
he went to the cross loving you;
where could i go but to the Lord;
who am I
I agree will several of the other suggestions. Howwever, I would love to hear “Just as I am” on the next project. That is the song that we were singing when I gave my heart to the Lord. Cann’t wait to get a copy of this project, I know it is going to be GREAT!!!!!Praying you each have a wonderful time with family during this season of Thanksgiving. I want to Thank you guys for all your dedication and serving the Lord.
I have two favorites that stand out. “Sheltered In The Arms Of God” and ” Because He Lives”
Thanks,
Michael
There are so many favorites of mine. But there are two I think sums it up for me: “Just As I AM” and “Victory In Jesus”
It Is Well with My Soul is a must!!
Amazing Grace!
Amazing Grace
Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me
Beluah Land
My all-time favorite is Amazing Grace…
My two most favorite hymns are “Amazing Grace” and “Jesus is the Sweetest Name I Know”
Joann B.
Definitely “The Haven of Rest”! Can’t wait to hear this CD!
Two of my favorites that I have not seen mentioned here are:
“Near to the Heart of God” & “Great is Thy Faithfullness”
Hey, guys!
I like to sing “How Great Thou Art”. Eric Lipford and I recorded a piece of music for me to perform with. It’s that hymn with a tag of Chris Tomlin’s song “How Great Is Our God”. It’s not an original idea, but it’s a good one!
Also, “What A Day That Will Be” is one of my favorites.
You put those two on there and you’ll make one of your fans happy, at least!
God bless
Amazing Grace and Great is Thy Faithfulness
The Ninety and Nine…please record this one…All the verses!
What A Day That Will Be and Sheltered In The Arms ………………. theses titles just says it all !!!
I love “Lord I lift your name on high”
” Shout to the Lord”
“Draw Me Close”
“Open The Eyes Of My Heart”
“Come To The Cross”
I have two that are my favorites. “Victory in Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art”
One of my all time favorates has always been page 332 in the Baptist Hymnal. Free From The Kaw, O Happy Codition. Thank you for recording it!
“When The Roll is Called Up Yonder” and “In the Sweet By and By” bring back memories of my Grandma Morgan and childhood days at Proctor City. Another couple I like…”I Want to Know More About My Lord” and “Learning to Lean on Jesus.” I also agree with “It Is Well with My Soul.”
Surely you didn’t think we would have just one favorite!
Won’t It Be Wonderful There — I have so many favorites, but that one always comes out on top.
There are so many wonderful songs! But the one that tells it all when I first came to the Lord, “JUST AS I AM”.
“It Is Well With My Soul” Thank God.
“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” is my favorite song. The message and melody are heart taking.
I’ve heard the chorus to this song used as the introduction to another hymn (actually, a medley of hymns), and it was beautiful!
-There is Something About that Name
-Just a Little Talk with Jesus
-Just a Closer Walk with Thee

I agree I think The Anchor Holds would be a good one
Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and ALL your family members. We all have SOOO much to be grateful for. Praise God for his goodness!!
A favorite hymn? That is a hard one. One of my favorite Christian artists is Keith Green. As you may know, Keith and two of his very young children, along with friends, died in a plane crash in the early 80’s. I love to hear him sing “Create In Me a Clean Heart”. After hearing you guys sing the “Our Father/The Lord’s Prayer”, I am convicted you can deliver any song with perfect harmony!
Marcella Brown
Love “Wonderful” from the Praise and Worship Hymnal
and “It Is Well” also.
