Word Of The Week – nap-ick

Ansleigh has really started using a lot of words!  We thought that you would enjoy hearing the latest… so we’re going to begin a new series titled Ansleigh’s Word Of The Week!  Check out the first episode below!

Shawn Breaks Down!

If you have seen us in concert within the last year you have heard of Alonzo (Shawn’s personal dancing coach)! This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to go back to the place where it all began.  Although Alonzo was unable to attend, we know that he would have been proud of Shawn’s progress!  What do you think?  Do you think he has a chance to make it on Dancing With The Stars?

Evangelism Crusade – Benton, KY

WOW!  We had an amazing time on Sunday and Monday in Benton, KY.  We were honored to kick off the first two nights of the Find It Here Evangelism Crusade hosted by the Blood River Baptist Association at the South Marshall Middle School.  The association is made up of 42 churches located in the counties of Marshall and Calloway in south western Kentucky!  This was the first time in nearly 40 years that all of the churches had come together for a crusade like this!  On Sunday night, nearly 1,500 gathered to praise and worship the Lord!  Dr. Jerry Spencer was the evangelist for every night of the crusade and Mark Bishop provided the music on the last two nights.  We can’t wait to hear about some of the hearts and lives that were changed during this meeting!  If you were in attendance, please be sure to leave a comment below!

Easter At Home!

We had an amazing time at home with family and friends over the Easter weekend.  Bridget and I spent Sunday afternoon at her grandmother’s house.  Ms. Millie is 91 years old and still knows how to entertain a house full of guests in style!  Ansleigh and Bryleigh took part in their first Easter Egg hunt and did extremely well.  You’ll have to check out the photos of the big event!  On Monday, Shawn and LeeAnn spent the day with the girls and took them to the park to play.  They definitely had a big time with “Uncle Shawn” and “Aunt LeeLee”!

One day last week, Ansleigh and Bryleigh decided to open the front door and go out into the yard to play… unsupervised!  Once Bridget noticed that the house was extremely quiet and the front door was open, she ran outside to find them in the yard with their Papa and Nana who live right next door! (I think that I was at least 4 or 5 years old before I ran away from home! LOL)  So now we have locks to keep the bad guys out… and latches to keep the bad girls in!   I also spent a couple of days installing nearly 200 feet of fence to keep them contained in the back yard!  That should keep us all secure for at least a few months… I hope!

As you can tell we’ve had a lot happening around our house… but what about you?  What did you do last weekend?  Any “runaway” stories you’d like to share?  We’d love to from you!

Telling The Story Of A Lifetime!

We’d like to thank Wesley Burke for putting together such a great article that was featured in the April edition of SGN Scoops Magazine.  We thought that you’d enjoying reading it as well!  And as always… please comment!

It’s a beautiful day in the small town of Munford, TN in September 1999. The main drag through town is blocked off, and the town’s fair is in full swing. An older model bus approaches the fair area, and turns in and parks in a vacant lot behind a simple wooden stage where a steady stream of local gospel artists has been performing. The name in the marquee area of the front of the bus simply says “Dills”, and off the bus comes a father and mother, their two sons, and the sons’ wives. One of the wives is a native of the small town, having graduated from the local high school, and until her marriage had sung with her own family, who would also grace the same stage during the fair. A small crowd of maybe 15-20 people sit on metal bleachers listening to the singing, while hundreds more are wandering through the booths and exhibits. The quality of music from the gospel stage hits every part of the spectrum, but when this group sings, there’s something different about them, especially when
