New Recording Is Finished

Before The Rain - The Dills

After several months of hard work, we’re excited to announce that our latest record is complete and set to be released on February 20, 2013! We truly believe that this collection of songs represents our lives and our ministry better than any single project that we’ve ever put together. As we were selecting songs for this project, each one of us was humbled by different songs boasting the same theme: trusting a trustworthy God. So we prayerfully decided to pack this cd, not with just “feel good” songs, but with songs that captured the individual, heartfelt testimonies of our own lives, the trials of our journeys and the personal commitments we’ve made to our Lord, Jesus Christ. Every lyric of these songs honestly articulates the personal ups and downs of our journeys with Christ so much so there were times while recording we were so overwhelmed by the raw truth, we had to stop singing and collect ourselves.

You see, we know something about trusting a trustworthy God. Each one of us in the group can boldly testify about God’s faithful provision in the darkest, driest times of our lives. We can also tell you that trusting in the Lord is a daily, lifelong challenge. We will never “arrive.” Each new crisis calls for recommitment. The good news is that the more we are aware of God’s loving hand working in our lives, the easier it becomes to trust Him.

Our prayer is that this project will be an encouragement to you! When you find yourself in a situation you didn’t “choose”, trust Him because He has a glorious plan for you. (Jeremiah 29:11) When you don’t know which way to go in life, trust Him because He’s led you this far. (Joshua 1:5) When you don’t know what to say to a hurting or lost friend, trust God to give you something to say. (Exodus 4:12) And when your fields seem to be drying up beneath the blazing sun, grab your umbrella and praise Him for His past provisions! (Hebrews 11:1) Be grateful for your past showers of blessings… Before the rain comes again!

Please take a moment to listen to the short clips here and order your copy today. We’d love it if you would leave a comment here to let us know what you think!

Merry Christmas!

We wanted to take an opportunity to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and we pray you have a wonderful New Year!  Often times you see the videos once they are completed… but this time we wanted to let you see just how difficult it can be to get a simple 20 second video just right!  🙂  Hope you enjoy!

These Hands Music Video

When approached with the question, “What is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

In a world of selfish desires and motives, we often think that God created our hands to be self serving.  But hopefully this song and video will remind us that These Hands were made for so much more!

I Quit Music Video

I guess that I’ve found a new hobby/passion for putting together music videos. It’s Only The First Time has received nearly 10,000 views in just two weeks, so I guess I’ll keep it up! We have all been guilty to trying to fix the problems of life with our own strength… This powerful song reminds us that in order for us to truly start over we must quit trying to fix them ourselves and give them to God! He is the true answer to all of our problems! I hope that we can all say “I Quit“!

It’s Only The First Time

As we were searching for songs to put on our God Is In Control recording a few years ago, this one really hit home with me.  Although I must admit that we’ve not used it very often in concert because of the controversial impression it may leave.  Let me explain… The lyrics tell us that when we fall back into a previously forgiven sin and then ask God to forgive us again “it’s only the first time” for Him because He’s already forgiven and forgotten it the last time!  This could potentially give the impression that we can continuously live in the same sins and God will just keep forgiving… but let me share my thoughts on this matter.  We must first realize we are ALL sinners and on this side of heaven we will always have a sinful nature.  God did not give us a license to sin, but He did give us a promise about how He would deal with a true repentance of our sin!  For me this song shares the beautiful picture that God’s love and grace is so deep and wide that He will forgive us when we fail!  I’m so thankful that He does not just give us just once chance!  I pray that this video and song will give you hope today!

… for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jeremiah 31:34

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

Bus Repair!

Most people never see all the work that goes into keeping a gospel group on the road. There’s a lot of things that happen way before we hit the stage for a concert! Bus repair is just one of the things that we “love” to do. It always surprises folks to find out that we do 99% of the maintenance on our 1998 Prevost XL bus… We’ve always said that we could afford a bus, but could not afford to pay someone else to work on it or drive it for us! 🙂 Hope you enjoy this short video of our most recent bus repair and we hope to see you soon!

The Amazing Shawn Dill

I always seem to find myself picking on my older brother, Shawn. Some of you tell me that I should not be so mean to him while most of you can relate to the “brotherly love” that we share! The truth is, I am very proud of my brother because he is extremely good at everything that he puts his mind to. This video is just another example of his amazing talent. I hope you enjoy!

Savannah Posey

Savannah PoseyEvery so often our paths cross with people that God has put there to make a mark on our lives. Several years ago in Muncie, Indiana, we met just such a family. Zach Posey made a public decision at East 16th Street Church of God where we were ministering and on that day we were privileged to meet the entire Posey family. Through the years, we’ve stayed friends with Greg, Angie and their children, following each other on Facebook, praying for Zach as he embarked upon his military journey and talking for hours after concerts when we can. Back in March we were blessed to see them at not one, but two of our concerts in the Muncie area. They are more than fans to us, they are family.

Last week on Tuesday, 16-year old Savannah Posey, sent us Facebook messages just checking in with us. This wasn’t surprising considering she was so thoughtful, caring and loving, but today it seems more than ordinary. The days following that message, Savannah quickly became very ill and when her family tried to wake her this morning they very unexpectedly found that she had passed away.

Our hearts are broken today and we mourn, but not as those who have no hope because we know where Savannah is… she’s at Home.  Our prayers go out to Greg, Angie, Zach, Corey, Skylar and all of the Posey family. We know difficult days lie ahead for them and we pray that God’s sufficient grace will be real and sustaining for them. We pray that God’s peace that passes all understanding will cradle them gently during this time of sorrow.

Though we don’t understand why such a sweet, beautiful, outgoing soul would be taken from us so quickly, we do know that the mark Savannah Posey left on us will stay with us forever.  It’s our prayer that the mark she has made on every person she’s had contact with at church, at school, wherever, will point souls to the open, loving arms of the Savior, Jesus Christ. That’s what she did in her life and I believe that’s what she will do even in her death…

You are loved and will be missed greatly but we’ll see you when we get HOME, Savannah!

Sound Of Hallelujah by Macie Dill

Last week we posted a video of our twin girls, Ansleigh and Bryleigh singing!  Macie (our 2 year old) was extremely jealous and was not going to be out-done by her older sisters.  Take a minute to check out this short video of Macie singing her favorite song by The Dills, “The Sound Of Hallelujah”!  Be sure to let her know what you think!
